Exactly 20 years ago, in 2004, Vadim Zhukov’s tracks “Exit” and “Nothing Matters” appeared on vinyl records in the catalog of European Trance publishing house Captivating Sounds, a division of Armada Music. Vadim was certainly one of the first Russian-speaking electronic musicians to rise to the same level of recognition and popularity as his international colleagues.
One can argue for a long time that everything in trance was invented back in the late 90’s, and all the subsequent monotonous movements that turned it into a multi-billion dollar industry are nothing more than self-copying and cynical commercial calculation. We are well aware of the different points of view on this style, but even better we see and hear that Vadim Zhukov continues to develop and evolve as a composer and producer, he regularly explores new musical territories, continues to play DJ sets and delight the public both on streaming and at parties.
This mix is a recording made directly from the mixer during Vadim’s DJ set under his new creative pseudonym VADM.
(By the way, if you look carefully at the tracklist, you will see the sixth track and its author “Monax” – the “cybernetic” editorial staff has reasons to believe that Monax is a new project of Alexey Monakhov, also a famous Trance/Progressive Trance musician in the past ;))
